Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday July 19th and Saturday the 20th will host the American Sprint Car Series-National Tour along with the cars and stars of the ASCS-Northwest Region. It will mark the first time since 2011 that the ASCS-National Tour has visited the historic ¼-mile clay oval. As was the case last weekend up at the Grays Harbor Raceway, in Elma, Washington, the Northwest Wingless Tour will play the role of the support class for both nights of action.

Since 2009 there have been a total of six ASCS-National Tour events at Cottage Grove Speedway. In those six races Jason Johnson has captured four of them. Both Shane Stewart and Brady Bacon have won just once. In ASCS-Northwest Region action so far this year Roger Crockett has been undefeated at “The Grove” winning three series events in three starts.

The ASCS-Northwest Region as a whole has had eleven events at five different venues with five different winners. Roger Crockett leads the series with five triumphs over Travis Rilat who has three. Kyle Hirst, Cam Smith, and Jason Johnson all have managed to score one apiece in regional competition. In local competition at CGS Roger Crockett has scored seven total victories while Rob Held has just won once.

The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night. For more information be sure and visit the venue’s homepage www.cottagegrovespeedway.com or call the brand new Northwest Tracks Hotline at (360)-699-RACE.
