Cottage Grove, Oregon- The DIRTcar Super Late Models will be back at the Cottage Grove Speedway this Saturday July 27th. Several of the area’s big hitters are expected to be on hand along with the Northwest Extreme Sprints, Street Stocks, Hornets, and WRS Late Model Lites.

The last time the DIRTcar Super Late Models were on hand was Independence Day when Trevor Glaser won the Firecracker 100 on July 4th. In local Late Model competition Collen Winebarger has the most victories, with three, while drivers with one win include Paul Culp, Chuck Christian, Shaun Mayea, and the aforementioned Glaser.

In the Northwest Extreme Sprints Kady Adelman and Raquel Ivie are the only two winners in the division. Not only are they the only two drivers to have won main events but they go into Saturday’s race tied up for the points championship. Ivie leads Adelman when it comes to wins as Ivie has visited victory lane three times while Adelman has done so twice.

With the return of the Street Stocks Darin Crooks leads the division in feature victories with three while Daniel Ray has won two times. Drivers visiting victory lane just once include Jordan Braaten, Steve Begley, and T.J. Langan. Joe Maricle has dominated the Hornet ranks in 2013 picking up a total of five visits to victory lane. Kolby Clay is the only other driver to win more than once with his two triumphs while drivers winning just one feature include Jim Simmons, David Beals, and Josh Corley. Two drivers who have won the only two non-point affairs of the season are Evan Britton and James Deatherage. The WRS Late Model Lites were on hand land weekend and seen Bob Westcott sweep the competition to earn the victory.

Tickets for the races on Saturday are $12.00 for Adults, Senior/Military/Junior (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children under the age of five are FREE. A Family Pass is offered for $30.00 which includes two Adults and up to four Youths. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM, front gates 4:00, time trials 5:30, and racing starts around 6:45.

The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night.
