Cottage Grove, Oregon- The Rolling Thunder Big Rigs will make their debut appearance to the Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday September 21st. In addition to the Big Rigs the Street Stocks and Hornets will be on hand to put on an evening of excitement.

Ticket prices are Adults $16.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $13.00, and Youths $7.00. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM, front gates 4:00, time trials 5:30, and racing starts around 6:45

The Rolling Thunder Big Rigs were formed around 2001 and have toured track across the Pacific Northwest. These trucks are similar to what you may see hauling freight on your nearby highway or freeway except they are modified for racing. They are sure to put on a show with close quarter action and breathtaking excitement.

The Street Stocks are coming off of an electrifying 2013 Wallbanger Cup. Daniel Ray would be declared the winner earning his fifth victory of the season while Darin Crooks still has four. Drivers with one win include Steve Begley, Jordan Braaten, Ricky Ashley, and T.J. Langan.

Chris Pierce would join this year’s Hornet win list after picking up the win last Saturday night. Joe Maricle still has the most wins during the current campaign and Taunton Swaim has three. Josh Corley and Kolby Clay have two triumphs while James Deatherage, Jim Simmons, Matt Cordell, and David Beals have been one time winners so far. James Deatherage and Evan Britton have also have won the two non-point events that were ran earlier this year.

The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night. For more information be sure and visit the venue’s homepage www.cottagegrovespeedway.com or call the brand new Northwest Tracks Hotline at (360)-699-RACE.
