Cottage Grove, Oregon- Race fans that are excited to hear of the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series back to the Cottage Grove Speedway on Wednesday September 9th will be even more happy to know that tickets will go on sale on this Tuesday January 27th at 9:00 AM. After a year hiatus by the “Greatest Show On Dirt” teams and officials with the tour are extremely enthusiastic they are headed back to the historic 1/4-mile clay oval. Get your tickets soon because they will be selling fast.
To order your tickets simply contact Cottage Grove Speedway General Manager Heather Boyce at (541)-729-8666. Tickets are the following prices: Adults $40.00, Juniors (9-17)/Seniors/Military $35.00, and Youths (8 & Under) $10.00. Please note there may be additional processing/handling fees. NO THIRD PARTY TICKET COMPANY IS GOING TO BE USED WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS, YOU ARE DIRECTLY BUYING THEM FROM THE TRACK.
Since 1994 the World of Outlaws have visited the Cottage Grove Speedway seventeen times producing ten different winners. Danny Lasoski has the most Outlaw wins at CGS with four over Steve Kinser’s three while Kraig Kinser and Donny Schatz have two apiece. Jason Meyers, Joey Saldana, Sammy Swindell, Mark Kinser, Dave Blaney, and, most recently, Tim Kaeding have all graced victory lane on one occasion each. Joey Saldana set the all-time track record in 2007 at a time of 9.991 seconds.
Also returning back as the support class in several years is the Northwest Extreme Sprints making it a whole night of Sprint Car racing. From 2003-06 the division was utilized as the support class until Late Models took over that role in 2007. The late Marvin Smith was the only driver to win more than once, with two victories, while Nate Morelock and Danny Horner were one-time winners.
