The Northwest Wingless Tour would open up their 2015 campaign at Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday May 9th. Thirteen cars from the states of Oregon and Washington would be in attendance. Some great racing would take place at the historic 1/4-mile clay oval.

The main event would get off to a bit of a slow start as three incidents would take place before the completion of the first lap. Guy Weedman, of the central Oregon town of Moro, was the leader of the first circuit in his Weedman Ranches #27 Maxim. Weedman would be overtaken by Salem's Kyle Miller on lap two. Miller, in the Tim Galloway owned Myer's Logging/Automotive Sheetmetal/Trifer Glass & Tinting #51 XXX, would put his mount in cruise control. Only one other stoppage would take place, a red flag incident on lap eleven, but it would not slow Miller down at all and he would lead the remainder of the distance by a massive interval over the rest of the field.

In addition to picking up the victory Kyle Miller would lap all the way up to fifth place. It was also the fourteenth NWWT win for him at Cottage Grove and his twentieth career series triumph.

Guy Weedman was a respectable second while a close third would be the Alberding Racing #52 Maxim of Tim Alberding from Salem. Forest Grove's Jake Gilman crossed the wire in fourth, in his Top Coat Powder/Pure Addiction Diesel/Randy Busser Sandblasting #15R Maxim, while ending night fifth was the Journey Built Homes/Power Punch Lubricants/Rodgers Racing Engines/Stone Works International Masonry #4J KPC of Allison Journey out of Springfield.

Kyle Miller would perform a total clean sweep by picking up fast time while winning the trophy dash and heat race. Winning the other heat race was Tim Alberding. The Northwest Wingless Tour heads to Grays Harbor Raceway this Saturday May 16th in Elma, Washington. For the latest news and information log on to wingless.nwextremeseries.com.
