Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway will be quite active this Memorial Day Weekend as the facility will offer three nights of racing for the fans. That's means nights full of excitement on Friday May 22nd, Saturday the 23rd, and Sunday the 24th.

The Kage Karts will kick off the whole weekend on Friday for their second race of the year. General admission to the Kart race is FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $35.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 3:00 PM and the Pit Meeting is at 6:00 PM with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.

Then Saturday night will be T-Shirt Night featuring the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. Being that it's T-Shirt Night if you wear a CGS T-Shirt or Sweatshirt you will receive $2.00 off your admission at the gate. Saturday Admission prices are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE.

Sunday will see the return of the Western Sprint Tour 360 Sprints with a very good car count expected. Support classes include the IMCA Modifieds, Late Models, and the Quality RV Repair Hornets. Sunday tickets are Adults $15.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $13.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $8.00, and 5 & Under FREE.

Colby Carter picked up a big win in the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints last Saturday and Dave Hibbard is the only other winner in the division so far. Will a new driver pick up the big win this Saturday?

Gene Ashley is the guy to beat in the IMCA Sport Mod ranks. Ashley has won both races this year. In fact Ashley has not lost a Sport Mod race and is a perfect five for five. Will the streak end Saturday?

Chris Sine is also on a hot streak in the Street Stock ranks. Sine has won the last three main events while Steve Dubisar has won once. Will someone be able to stop Sine's reign?

In the Quality RV Repair Hornets Joe Maricle became the first repeat winner last weekend after picking up his second win the year. Drivers that have managed to achieve just a single victory include Josh Corley, Jim Simmons, and Dan Jenkinson. There are plenty of other drivers that have yet to win and the Hornets are the only division racing twice which creates two chances for some new faces to enter the winner's circle.

The Western Sprint Tour's return will mark the second time the series has visited CGS and Trey Starks won the first race back in April. The tour will be in action the night before at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City. In local competition Michael Kofoid and Roger Crockett have won 360 Sprint events at the historic 1/4-mile clay oval in 2015.

In the IMCA Modifieds Kinzer Cox is on a hot streak. Cox has won the last two main events and will look to make it three in a row on Sunday. Jesse Williamson and Braedon Hand have recorded a single win apiece.

Finally the Late Model ranks have been dominated by Curtis Towns. He has won a total of three main events in five starts with Jesse Williamson and Joey Tanner winning just once. Will Towns make it back to victory lane after a two race absence?

Don't forget about the upcoming Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic on Friday May 29th and Saturday the 30th. The Saturday program will feature a $4,100.00 to win 360 Sprint feature. Lap sponsors are still available and are $100.00 per lap. If you are interested in purchasing some feel free to contact CGS General Manager Heather Boyce at (541)-729-8666.
