Cottage Grove Speedway would play host to several hundred children as the historic 1/4-mile clay oval had Kids Night on Saturday June 6th. Classes in the pit area included the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, Late Models, and Street Stocks. The night was a great success and we want to thank all of the drivers that donated bikes to be given away to all the children.

Seizing the lead on lap one in the Clark Printing Extreme Sprints Medford's Dave Hibbard would blaze the trail. Hibbard would receive some pressure, especially by the Jacob Daniels Attorney at Law/State Representitive Cedric Ross Hayden/All Seasons Equipment/LaChance Kofoid Enterprises #5D KPC of Cottage Grove native Patrick Dills, but he would hold on despite getting caught up in lapped traffic. Dills would spin on lap nineteen while mounting a challenge on the leader. On the ensuing restart Hibbard would master it and went on to win his third race of the season in his C&H Motorsports/Dave's Carpet & Vinyl Liquidators/Tangible Real Estate Investments #3 Zeitler.

The Clark Printing/Todd's Auto Body/BC Motorsports/Team 85 #85 Rocket of Thurston's Ricky Ashley was second followed by Colby Carter, of Cottage Grove and in his Huddle Automotive Repair/Royal Flush Environmental Services/Oregon West RV/Hedge Carter Gutter Service #71 XXX, ended his night third. The rest of the top five would be made up of Roseburg's Orion Redmond in fourth, piloting the Redmond Trucking/Umpqua Sand & Gravel/Double R Powdercoating/Ken's Dry Cleaning #12 J&J, while Patrick Dills rallied to a fifth place finish.

Despite several cautions in the IMCA Modified feature it would be an exciting race. In the first four laps there would be four different leaders. Jason Kocks, from Creswell, seemed to have the field covered but with all the cautions it was very difficult for him to establish a massive lead in his Curt Deatherage Auto Electric/Art Hiatt Motors/Oregon Electric Service/Riviera Barber Shop #45 S.D.M.F. Kocks would lose the coveted position to Kinzer Cox, from Cottage Grove, on lap nineteen.

Unfortunately a few moments later the two would get together at the start/finish line and the Robert Howell Logging/Hard Knocks Brewing/Scoggins Creek Coffee/Jerry Robinette Performance Carburetors #1K Loose Gruff, of Cox, sustained too much damage to be able to continue. Kocks would lead the rest of the way to score his first win of the 2015 campaign.

Scott Lenz of Shady Cove, driving the Don Roemer owned Cascade Auto Recycling/Lenz Chiropractic #83L Shaw, was the runner-up with the Eastside Rollforming Specialties/Raceprint.com #10 Pro of Creswell's Gus Cooper ending his evening in third. Springfield chauffeur Steven Sturdevant managed to finish fourth in his Springfield Tire Factory/Tan Republic #11 X-Factor while the Superior Fuel Cells/A&A Magnetics/Storage Depot #0P X-Factor of Philomath teenager Briley Pompe was fifth.

In the Late Model feature Salem's Britton Donahoo would really impress some fans after taking the lead on lap four. Donahoo, in his O&O Farms/Kartco Racing #5 MasterSbilt, would be the pace setter until lap seven when Curtis Towns of Cottage Grove would pass him. Towns, in the Paul Culp owned Superior Fuel Cells/All Pro Steel/Rapid Delivery Service/Superior Silkscreen & Emproidary #42 X-Factor, held on the rest of the way to get back to the winner's circle for the fourth time in 2015.

Britton Donahoo was an impressive second while behind him in third was the My Boys Slate Fired Pizza/Taylor Restaurant Equipment #18 MasterSbilt of Blaine Taylor from Pleasant Hill. Eugene's Randy Martin managed to get fourth, in his Seth Anderson Racing Engines/Team S.D.M.F. #88M Warrior, and the Redwood Northwest/West End Performance/Colleen's One Stop Bird Shop #422 GRT, piloted by Chuck Christian and also from Eugene, was fifth.

Finally in the Street Stock ranks it would be another dominating performance by Eugene driver Chris Sine. Evan Britton of Cottage Grove was the leader for the first half of the race in his D&L Truck Parts/Robert Howell Logging/Todd's Auto Body/Clark Printing #85 Nova. On lap ten the teenager would lose the position to the Pro Auto Racing/Murphy Plywood/Pure Romance by April/Stipe Engine Specialties/Blind Pig Bar & Grill #24 Camaro of Sine. Sine would keep his mount out in front for the remainder of the feature to capture his fifth straight main event win at CGS.

Evan Britton was second and Cottage Grove's Jeff Casto would finish third in his Casto Family Racing #3 Monte Carlo. Redmond driver Robbie Ulam was fourth in the Ol' Skool Auto Repair & Race Cars/Babcock Trucking & Excavating #69 Camaro followed by the Babcock Trucking & Excavating/Ol' Skool Racing Auto Repair & Race Cars/Stipe Engine Specialties/4U Simple Bookeeping #93 Camaro of Redmond's Scott Lehman in fifth.
