Dills Set for Season Opener Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (April 6, 2016) – Patrick Dills has high expectations entering the season opener this Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway.
Dills is coming off his first career sprint car championship last year at the quarter-mile oval in the Extreme Sprints class and he wants to duplicate that success in the 360ci division in 2016.
“Last year we only won three times, but we were consistently in the top five,” he said. “As long as we stay consistent and show improvement week to week I think we’ll be in good shape. I hope for a podium or a top five this weekend to start off with that same consistency.”
Dills took advantage of last weekend’s play day to test and tune his sprint car at the high-banked track.
“It was a good shakedown,” he said. “We wanted to get the motor running well and just knock the rust off. Now we get to racing.”
Dills finished a career-best second twice last season in 360 competition. He ended the season with three top fives to place third in the Cottage Grove Speedway 360 championship standings.
