Jorddon Braaten has Hefty Lead in Sportmod Standings Heading into Final Race!
Saturday, September 15th the IMCA Sportmods will compete for the final time in 2018 at Cottage Grove Speedway. Jorddon Braaten is currently leading Daniel Ray by 26 points in what has been a very dominant season for Braaten picking up many wins on the ¼ mile. Ray is situated comfortably in 2nd with a 27-point advantage over 3rd place but it ain’t over til it’s over and neither 1st or 2nd are guaranteed until the completion of Saturday’s main event action.
Only 5 points separate Doug Coffman in 4th from Art Hiatt who is currently sitting in 3rd, with the tricky IMCA point format that translates to 5 positions in the Main Event making 3rd place anybody’s guess. Shawn Hand has a 5-point lead on Buddy McHargue for 5th in the season’s final standings.
The Sportmods have quickly become one of Cottage Grove Speedway’s biggest and most competitive classes, this Saturday is sure to be some stellar Sportmod action!
