Grenert, Haverty, And Curr Win Night One Of CGS Dwarf Nationals
Cottage Grove, Oregon- The cars and stars of the Western Dwarf Car Association invaded Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday, August 13th, for the opening night of the CGS Dwarf Car Nationals. It is the first time since 2019 that the historic ¼-mile clay oval has held a Dwarf Car event. Three divisions were on tap, including Pro, Sportsman, and Veteran classifications.
Mike Grenert of Fairfield, California, bested the field in the Pro main event. Tommy Valesquez III and Anthony Pope, racing for car owner Clay Goben, were second and third. Josh King and Brandon Shaw were the rest of the top five finishing order. Josh Foster was victorious in the consolation feature.
Albany, Oregon racer Tanner Curr finished first in the Sportsman main event. Dave Bruhn was to be the runner-up, and Trevor Davis got third. Philip Rowland posted a fourth-place result, with Bryson Smith getting fifth.
Jack Haverty, representing San Jose, California, was first to the line in the Veteran division. Kevin Miraglio and Mark Biscardi were second and third. Fred Hay took fourth when the checkered flag waved, while Eric Weisler was fifth.
Cottage Grove Speedway returns for night two of the CGS Dwarf Car Nationals on Saturday, August 14th. They will be joined by the Royalty Core IMCA Northern Sport Mods presented by Karl Kustoms. For more information, log on to the track website or check out the Facebook page.
