Cottage Grove Speedway
WILL COTTAGE GROVE SPEEDWAY BEAT OUT MOTHER NATURE THIS WEEKEND FOR THE 2024 SEASON OPENER???
It's a beautiful March day here at Cottage Grove Speedway, the sun is shining and we are hard at work getting everything ready to open our gates for the 69th year of racing at the historic little 1/4 mile dirt oval in the equally historic Cottage Grove. We will be watching the weather and updating everyone as we know more but if Mother Nature can keep the sun shining and the wet stuff away the 2024 season will get started this Saturday, March 23rd!
360 Sprint Cars are on the schedule for this opener and new in 2024 they are presented by Todd's Auto Body who is offering up a points fund at the end of the season for the top finishers in this class. You can bet defending champion Tyler Thompson will be here and ready to defend his title along with the 2023 runner up Kinzer Cox who will be looking to take that title back. Early season races also draw a great group of out of town racers eager to get some laps before their home tracks open up, you never know what big names will show up for the Season Opener!!
Jake Mayden is not only your reigning Late Model champion but also is the defending and multiple time champ of the Modified Class! This year the Modifieds are being brought to you by Wheeless Trailers who, like Todd's Auto Body, will be throwing down some extra cash for a point fund at the end of the season. Mayden will have his work cut out for him this weekend as he looks to defend his title in both classes against the top drivers in the state
The Street Stock class is looking to be bigger and more competitive than ever this year with a very impressive list of drivers coming to compete at Cottage Grove this season and with reigning champion Adam Applebee forced to the sidelines for the season for an injury, this class will have a new champion in 2024 and there are a lot of drivers looking to capture that crown!
Kick off Spring Break right this year and join us Saturday, March 23rd for the Season Opener, you won't regret it!
